Project overview

North Hemlo is First Class Metals’ flagship property and offers considerable potential for both precious and base metal mineralisation.

Originally consisting of three separate claim areas, First Class Metals’ addition of the Hemlo North block from Power Metals Plc unified North Hemlo into a single, contiguous block. This consolidation expanded the property's coverage to 448 claims, spanning approximately 98km².

While there have been limited historical showings on the North Hemlo property, First Class Metals’ discovery at Dead Otter Lake includes noteworthy gold/molybdenum grades.

Moreover, the geological and geophysical signatures observed at the neighbouring Dotted Lake/Fairservice prospect extend onto the North Hemlo block. This presents further promising prospects.

First Class Metals is committed fully to exploring and realising the vast mineral potential held within its North Hemlo flagship property. The Company is leveraging its strategic partnerships, extensive geological data, and comprehensive exploration plans to unlock the area’s precious and base metal potential.

Next steps

First Class Metals was recently granted an Exploration Permit for the North Hemlo project area.

This will allow the Company to consolidate the extensive work already undertaken along the Dead Otter trend, including prospecting, sampling, and mapping.

The stripping off of overburden along the Dead Otter trend will allow for a far more quantitative appraisal of the Dead Otter structure. Specifically, First Class Metals will focus on the area of the historical showing (3.1ppm Au 0.59% Mo) as well as the extension along strike to the south east.

Meanwhile, First Class Metals will also complete stripping along with drill pad construction at North Hemlo in the area 3km to the south east of the Dead Otter Lake structure reporting 19.6ppm Au. This work will be carried out in anticipation of drilling.

Both of these locations have reported visible gold and gold ‘panned’ from crushed rock.  Furthermore, other samples in the area of the 19.6ppm sample have reported 13.6ppm and 4.6ppm Au.

The historic showing at Dead Otter zone is also reporting very high values of pathfinder elements including molybdenum as well as telluride. This is strongly associated with gold deposits in the Hemlo area, and could indicate high level in a gold system in First Class Metals’ licence area.

In an additional area over 750m south east along trend from the historic showing, an isolated outcrop also returned 2.29ppm Au, confirming the presence of an auriferous trend. This will also be a target for stripping.
